There was a summit called the Copehagen Earth Summit from last week to this week, where world leaders from 192 countries gathered to agree on a pact to help save the Earth from imminent global warming.
Some of the suggestions brought up in today's newspaper (21 December) suggested ideas to save the environment in Singapore. One way is to cut down the use of plastic bags in bread shops. If you remember buying bread from bakeries like Breadtalk and Four Leaves, for every piece of bread is put into a clean plastic bag. Well, environmentalists felt that this is a waste of resources, and plastic, being non-biodegradable (it cannot be broken down into simpler substances), harms the environment.
What do you think of this?
Do you think that it is good to cut down on the number of plastic bags given out?
This is an account where sharing takes place. Sharing of information, sharing of experiences as well as sharing of common activities we go through together. It also includes a platform where we can post good pieces of composition and solutions of Maths challenge questions.
