Maths Journal #2

Hi 3/4,
This week's Maths journal is a challenging Maths question on whole numbers. See if you can solve for it!
Remember to do the questions on your own, then your explainations and answers will reflect your thoughts. :)

The total number of people in an auditorium was 8221. There were thrice as many men as women. There were 2256 more children than women. How many men were in the auditorium?

  1. first subtract 2256 from 8221.(8221-2256=5965)Then, divide 5965 by 5.(5965 divide 5=1193)finally,1193 multiply 3.(1193 times 3=3579)
